Disney Twenty-Three Magazine Scans

Here are some scans from the March 10th issue of the new quarterly Disney magazine, Disney Twenty-Three! Mark Salisbury (editor of the book Burton on Burton) wrote the article on Alice in Wonderland. Pictures include images from the film (like Mia Wasikowska in her Alice outfit), concept art, Tim Burton and Helena Bonham Carter, and a Burton/Disney timeline. Click on the images below for larger versions!

Wow! I am excited!

Hey, whoever was posting the comments about the "Underland" bull- droppings, do the characters (Cheshire Cat, March Hare and Doormouse) look like THAT, because this looks more like the traditional storybook "Alice in Wonderland" to me!

No, they don't look like that. That's just how the set design looks. The March Hare is brown, but he looks very depressed and worn down, whereas in that mage he looks smart and preppy. The Dormouse is white and feminine looking (because she's female) and has a dusty pink overcoat. The Cheshire Cat is fat, has yellow teeth, green eyes, and grey and turcoise stripes all over.

I'm disappointed they didn't include character concept art but I'm still looking forward to this movie. Tim always puts such a lovely little spin on things!

I can already tell this movie is going to be amazing. Tim can do no wrong. ;D

My, oh my...
I'll echo the first comment: "will this movie just come out already?"
I'm also very impatient to discover the art and designs of the movie.
These are such teases.

Is the Mock Turtle or The Griphon in the script? How about the Duchess or the Lion and the Unicorn? Maybe the White Knight, the Sheep, Humpty Dumpty, or Bill McGill?

Who is Bill McGill???

Anonymous said...

He is a lizard and the White Rabbit's caretaker.

The lizards name is just "Bill" and not Bill McGill. This Character is from "American Mc Gee's.."

Umm, the lizard Bill was in the Disney version as well, not just the American McGee one.

The lizard is also in the book, but his name is just "Bill", only by "Amercian Mc Gee's" his name is Bill McGill.
