Corpse Bride Set Visit

Here's a story we almost missed from Aint It Cool News. It features a detailed report about a visit to the production, with lots of brand new information and pictures. Especially interesting is the news that Corpse Bride will feature several songs! Be warned, though, there may be some plot spoilers.

I'd like to point out ros that the nightmare before christmas is not really tim buton's film. I think Henry seleck should get the credit for the MOVIE because he directed it, and worked w/ the stop-motion also. The thing that Tim did was write the original book for it,

oh wow i cant wait for this to come out...

the lead animator for the corpse bride graduated from my uni a few years back so all the lecturers went to see it being filmed for a day! shame us students couldn't go :(

Hello,
I can not wait untill Corpse Bride comes out! I think that Tim Burton is the best film, producer, director ever. He has been my fav. since 1994. I have every movie he's did. I think that Edward Sissorhands is the best movie he did. It was very sad.I loved it!I just let one of my friends borrow the movie.I even convinced my Math teacher to let us watch it on May 20. My art teacher loves Tim Burton's work just as much as I do. I know that Hot Topic sells The Nightmare Before Christmas items and clothing. If you want to try it out. Sep.23 seems so far away!I hope that if someone reads this also shops at Hot Topic for The Nightmare Before Christmas items and/or clothing.

i am sooooooooooo excited about Corpse Bride, even moreso now that i read that article. I'm really glad that it is a musical...i think Tim Burton and Danny Elfman pulled NMBC off quite well.lol.
i wasn't sure about the plot before because the original tale is a hard one to turn into a motion picture. I'm glad it has been clarified for me...now September seems even farther away...

To those who said that Tim didn't do anything on NIGHTMARE, your all Burtonesque posers who don't actually study and strive to find out all they can to find out what went into making these glorious films. Tim burton couldn't direct the film because he was busy directing BATMAN RETURNS. He did come up with the story and characters, he was a very important influence of how the film turned out to be. He came up with all the situations and new characters for the film, he was on set at least two times a week. My proof is BATMAN RETURNS, look at how closely the two films match up, they show Tim's style at the time (every artist goes through different periods where thier work differs from thier past and future bodies of work).
To the one who asked "how do they Make them run?" They make them appear running by bolting at least one leg into the set. This is appearant in the animation tests of some of the puppets.
C'mon you guys, you have to better yourselves in Burton logic. Oh, by the way, this site is missing a page for another Tim movie, JAMES AND THE GIANT PEACH. I'm sure that the webmaster just simply forgot.
I'm only fifteen years old (barely) and i know more than you adults, or should I say DOLTS!? I'll leave you to your pitiful selves.

Justin, you were right about most of the NMBC notes you made but I'm pretty sure you're incorrect regarding Peach being a Burton film.

If I remember correctly, the only connection the film has to Nightmare beyond the style of animation is the same director (Henry Selick). The actually story is based on a book by Roald Dahl.

CHRIS, TIM BURTON WAS A HEAD PRODUCER AND A MAIN (CONCEPT) ART DIRECTOR.

I just did some digging and it appears you're correct Justin. Learn something new everyday.

Hello again,
I really injoy reading everybody's comments on Tim Burton. I can not wait untill Batman Begins comes out! I love Batman! I also would LOVE to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory! I was looking at the home page of this web site(www.timburtoncollective.com/unfinished.html or simply go to home page and go to movies, then go to Unrealised Projects) about how Tim Burton never got to do a Beetlejuice 2. One was called: Beetlejuice Falls in Love and Beetlejuice Goes Hawaiian. Also a Batman 3! I would of LOVE to see those movies if they were realised! I also found out that Tim Burton helped with the movie The Black Cauldron. I never knew that and I even had that movie. Did you know that Jack off of The Nightmare Before Christmas, he got the idea off of Beetlejuice? At the end of Beetlejuice, he had a merry-go-round on his head with a skull on top, thats where he came up with Jack. I did not know that untill now! Which is really surprising, because eveyone at my school knows that I am a Tim Burton freak! I can't believe they have already have posters for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Batman Begins! Can't wait until all of his NEW movies comes out! Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Batman Begins, and Corpse Bride!!!!!!!!!!!!

chemical romance, you are a fool. tIM bURTon has nothing to do with Batman Begins. He is not credited for any of it. And as for getting the idea of Nightmare Before Christmas off of that head on beetlejuice, i assume you are going to say the bat wings coming out of michael keaton's head (as beeteljuice) were inspiration for batman returns. No no, Tim Burton had the idea, a poem even for Nightmare long before beetle juice, far back as Vincent. i say this not as a pompous ass but a devotee to burton although he is becoming hollywood while living in london, forgetting about burbank. Money motives? i hope not.

Hey, in answer to your question about how they get the stop motion characters to walk; they use 'tie downs' and literally bolt the character's feet to the set through a small drilled hole. It's very time consuming. they also use rigging to hold the characters for more complicated shots. I've just been working on the film. It is so fantastic i spent half my time just staring at the fabulous sets and characters.

can't wait for this and CatCFto add to my collection

I am so happy to know that I am not the only one in love with Tim Burton's work. All my friends think I'm odd. I think he's a genius! Big fish is my all time favorite movie. It's so clever and different from all the other movies I have seen.Ewan McGregor was perfect.I'm very thankful to Daniel Wallace for writing the book. and even more thankful to tim for directing the movie. The Corpse Bride looks beautiful in every Tim Burton way.another work of Art!Thank you tim for your hard work and to everyone who uses their great talent, helping his vision work well.

I love how Burtons characters, (especialy in this film) are so skinny ( set aside oogie boogie and the clown in NBC) It just makes it that much more beautiful in corpse bride to see the ribs and collar bones.

i arived an hour before the show started and i realy enjoyed it. i was laughing almost all the way through, but no one else got any of it!!!

Anonymous said...

Do you agree it was missing something? Everything happened so fast but was the same length as Nightmare. The end seemed to leave you hanging and it almost seems it could make room for a sequel.

Anonymous said...

I think the dvd will come out in late december or early Januray.

Anonymous said...

The dvd comes out January 31st!!!
