"Alice in Wonderland" Now in Theaters!

So, apparently, that Tim Burton guy has this new movie out. I think it's Alice in the Looking Glass, or something. I haven't heard much about it, so I dunno. Anyway, I saw this one commercial, and it said you can see it in theaters in, like, 3D, and IMAX, and IMAX 3D, and normal 2D. Oh, and Johnny Depp's in it, too.

I just saw the Alice In Wonderland in 3-D and it was the the most amazing movie Tim Burton has ever done!! I couldn't believe my eyes. I knew it was going to be good, but my god it was better than good it was mind blowing! Better than god! Everything was so well put together, so realistic like you were actually there and could reach out and touch everything! This is by far one of the best movies i've ever seen!! I can't wait to hear Tim Burton Collective News about it. =^.^=

I don't know how one could possibly say it was the most amazing thing Tim Burton has ever done. I had such HIGH expectations and was so excited, however, the film fell flat to me. It was a complete disaster in my opinion, and it pains me to admit it. I usually always support Tim Burton but..I just want to know what went wrong here. It wasn't all terrible, in fact some parts were quite good (the Cheshire Cat, March Hare, the animation, and production design were great.) The acting was terrible..except for Mia and Helena. I can't believe I'm saying this but I think Tim and Johnny should go their separate ways. Johnny has turned into a one trick pony. I just wanted so much more. They hyped this movie up so much and tragically it missed the mark. And surprisingly even Danny Elfman disappointed me! I was really hoping for an incredible title sequence in the beginning, there was none of that. And if anyone believes the dance sequence done by the Mad Hatter is entertaining, I'd have to say you were madder than him. Overall, a total let down :(
I'm really depressed.

i appreciate anonymous saying that this fell a little flat for THEM. i dont like it when people say 'oooh it was a really bad movie' just because they didnt like it.
i disagree with their opinion, but each to his own i suppose.

Actually I found it to be almost the opposite of the 'most amazing movie Tim Burton has ever done'. It had so much potential and there was sooo much more that could have been done with the universe, but instead the story was the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe with Lewis Caroll's characters. Having said that, the cast was perfect, it was just a shame the film felt so rushed and never got a chance to spend nearly enough time with them. And I was most disappointed with Danny Elfman's score - the first time I've been bored with one of his Burton collaborations. And don't get me wrong - I am the biggest Australian Burton fan in Australia (just haven't bothered registering here!). But as fans we should be level-headed and be able to critique work that we admire. I will have to watch it again, because I think I'll enjoy the film more now, knowing what to expect. Still, better than Planet of the Apes, and the Frutterwacken scene IS classic Burton cheesy, silly fun!

Wow, i can't believe how rude Anonymous and Alex said how disapointing the movie was! The creators worked so hard to put this movie together and to even have so called "Tim Burton Fans" say such horrible things about this film really upsets me. They all worked very hard on this film and im sure they would have done even better if Disney wasnt in control of the intire thing and if they had more time to work on this project. I didn't like how Disney put Avril Lavigne and all thoes other really crappy music artists in with such a great and new 3-D like movie. I blame most of it on Disney. To me, it was one of Tim Burtons best movies, that will never be forgotten. The whole point of the movie was trying out the new CGI/animation with the new technology we have today and to stick with Lewis Carroll original story line. There was so much detail that was put into this movie that was incredible and if anyone sought to pay more attention to the characters than the detail put into it, is purely mad.

Point being, if you dont like the film then dont post about it. As the old saying goes, "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it at all".

From one Burtonite to another I think Mr. Burton just sort of let this one play out on it's own. I must humbly agree with Anonymous and Alex. Such potential, but yet fell quite a bit short. Yes deadhearts666, everyone that worked on this film put a LOT of work into this, but this isn't a high school musical here, this is a multimillion dollar film of which the people that got paid the least surely put the most work into it( I mean look at ALL that CGI). You can put all the time in the world into something but if you are doing it for the money and not the love of it, Please don't do it. This movie truly lacked heart more than anything else. I guess i shouldn't be surprised that someone dead of heart feels frustration over those that do follow their hearts and speak from it.

Oh I certainly didn't hate it, there were some great aspects as well as some not-so-great aspects, and as I said - as fans, we should be able to constructively criticise an artists' work. What I said was not rude, but fair and I appreciate you disagreeing with my opinion deadhearts666, just don't be so fanboy/girl-ish about it. But I suppose about 6 years ago I was a young, unreasonable fanboy myself - that has come to appreciate Tim on a much higher level than I did, while also being able to see imperfections in his tremendous body of work as well.

To darkinddreamer, you are right it is a multimillion dollar film of corse its Disney and that is precisely what Disney is, a multimillion dollar industry or should i say multibillion dollar industry. If Disney really cared they would have let Mr. Burton have more time to work on it and as i said before previously, the whole point of the movie was trying out the new CGI/animation with the new technology we have today and to stick with Lewis Carrolls original story line. Which if you read that part then you would have known that Mr. Burton did not create the story he just meirly told it through Lewis Carolls visions. There for saying that this was not Mr. Burtons story. And im not sure what you mean by "lacking heart" because this was not a love story.

To Alex, i first wanted to apologize for calling you and Anonymous rude, i understand that it was not the appropriate word for what i was feeling at the time. To explain myself a little more before someone calls me a fanboy/girl-ish, before knowing my reasoning behind it, i would like to say that Planet of the Apes was actually a very good movie and so was the orginals. There are a lot of bad films out there but for thoes who at least try their best, i feel like they should deserve some kind of credit and recognition for it. Instead of just putting it down because its not what they had expected...like some. Art in film is not about perfection it is the story behind it, thus i feel what Mr. Burton and Mr. Elman did was truly incredible for each movie they have done has a sort of vibe and twist that makes it distinctively diffrent from each of their own. I just hope that you will like his next film, Dark Shadows, from what i've herd and understood he is sticking with the more realistic take on things. Alex, i've been reading your posts for a very long time and to hear say that you actually disliked this film was a huge shock to me, especally after saying you were such a huge Burton fan, i guess i just expected more than that. :s
