Michael Keaton signs up for back to back sequels with Burton!

From The Milton Keynes Gazette comes the exciting news that Keaton will reteam with Burton for not one, but two long-awaited sequels. First up will be Beetlejuice II: Gothic Boogaloo, which finds the bio-exorcist trapped in the world of the living and performing his own one-man show in Vegas. Once that wraps, the dynamic duo will then move on to Batman Ends, which will chronicle the final adventures of the Dark Knight. Said a spokesman for Warner Bros. "This will serve as sequel not only to Batman Returns but also the new Christian Bale franchise. We figure Batman is popular enough that we can make people pay to watch two different Batmans. There is also the possibility that young Bruce Wayne will travel into the future and be forced into a fight to the death with his older self which causes a rip in the space time continuum that can only be fixed by Superman flying around the Earth really fast."
More news as we get it.

You had me fooled! Damn yous! The Batman thing was cool, and the Beetlejucie thing was okay. But when I found out this was a joke that was it!!! I have been fooled for the last time!!!

What if this isn't an April Fools Day prank? That Beetlejuice sequel sounds good to me. I like the title. Batman Ends seems intresting too. Happy April Fools Day, everyone!

Okay this is the second time I have been fooled today but it isn't nearly as bad as the first (I'm still shaking from the first one).

I fell for it. The Batman one would've been okay, but I'm SO glad they aren't doing a Beetlejuice sequel. If it bombed, they would be ruining one of the greatest movies ever. That's all I'm saying.

Haha. That was pretty good. A better one would have been “Tim Burton retires”. Though I think it would have caused a lot of fans to suffer severe heart attacks upon reading it.

Whew ! For a split second, I thought Mr. Burton had done gone and lost his enigmatic mind. Clever.

I should have known it was an April Fools Day prank. Sorry everyone!

Beetlejuice was a one-of-a-kind cinematic experience , unlike Batman , which could have gone on just as indefinately as any superhero film. No , for Tim Burton to have made a sequel to Beetlejuice would have signaled a serious mid-life crisis for him. How long did that spin-off cartoon series last ? Not very long, as I recall.

i wish that could happen

Oh man! serious. The Beetlejuice one would have been so huge! You should seriously pitch that. Look at all the other crap that comes out. I mean if Air Bud can have a sequel, and Beethoven has like 8 parts, I think Beetlejuice deserves its shot!

LOL you scared me! i hate sequels xD gosh... ahah!

Hmmmm....You do have a point there, StPaulStef. There have been far worse sequels. Still, Tim Burton doesn't seem the sort to do sequels. However, he doesn't appear to be adverse to remakes. Ah, well.

so so so so so so so so so so glad it's a joke. otherwize i would have thought tim burton had gone mental and i would have screamed in horror at the wrongness and stupidity of the idea.

I never notice April Fools day jokes, but I kind of got the picture when I read the whole "superman flying round the earth really fast" thing.

I just read an online interview with Christopher Nolan, director of Batman Begins. What I found intersting was the fact that the two new Batman Begins sequels titles were "sort of" revealed.

Batman Continues and Batman Ends.

You see where I'm going with this?

Nothing has been confirmed though, so we'll have to wait and see.

Batman Begins,Batman Continues,Batman Ends... Makes sense to me. Oh, by the way, the first sequel is scheduled for a release in 2008, and will possibly feature the Joker as the main villian. Many actors have been metioned for the role including... Johnny Depp! No one has been confirmed for the role yet.
